We always have lots of new and exciting topics and events to discuss. This is a great opportunity to see what we are all about and sign up to become a member of the Algoma Fish and Game Club.
The Algoma Fish and Game Club (AFGC), established in 2016. Maintaining steady annual growth has brought the club to approximately 80 members. With the efforts of the collective group we’ve initiated and completed many projects and tasks to further our mission.

Children's Perch Derby
*** SUNDAY, MARCH 15, 2020 ***
CANCELLED
UPDATE: As disappointed as our volunteers are to make this announcement, the health and safety of our community is our first priority. As such, the Algoma Fish and Game Club has reluctantly made the decision to cancel the 2020 AFGC Children's Perch Derby. We regret the short notice, but we were doing our due diligence, consulting with Algoma Public Health and our other stakeholders. Once subsided we will take stock of our plans for future events and will continue to promote outdoor sport to local kids and families with fun events whenever possible!
Please take care of yourself and each other.
Thank you
AFGC
AFGC Children's Perch Derby - This is our club’s largest event of the year, involving over 30 volunteers and more than 40 area businesses/organizations who sponsor with financial donations and services. This ages 14 and under derby allows hundreds of area children and their families to enjoy a fun-filled day of fishing and prizes. Next year’s event will take place Sunday, March 15, 2020.

AFGC Veterans' Fishing Day - Take a Veteran Fishing Day will be remembered as a great day of fishing, new friendships formed and most of all our thanks & gratitude to the veterans for their service to Canada & our freedom! This amazing day would not have been possible without the donations from area businesses & countless volunteer hours. The Algoma Fish and Game Club thanks everyone who was involved.

AFGC Fall Kids Fishing Day - 3rd annual
2019: 374 local kids plus their families attended the second annual AFGC Fall Kids Fishing Day at Kinsmen Park. 200 Splake (a cross between brook and lake trout) and Rainbow Trout provided by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry were sought after by the young anglers on Sunday from 11:30am-3:30pm in multiple ponds. New in 2019 were events from Sault North Archery Club, Sault Area Search and Rescue, and a lure building station (Learn to Fish Program). The growth of the event was made possible by presenting sponsor Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore Foundation. The remaining fish were released in the reservoir for continued family fun at Kinsmen Park. If you missed the event you can still take your chances! We look forward to hosting this event in 2020.
